Vehicle ‘improperly entered’ Yellow Line tracks, collided with train, CTA says

A vehicle ‘improperly entered’ Yellow Line tracks in Skokie where it was hit by a train Tuesday afternoon, the CTA says.

Service was resuming after the collision, which happened shortly after 1 p.m. in Skokie at a grade crossing, the CTA said. No passengers were hurt.

Skokie fire and police department spokespersons did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Shuttle buses have been requested from Skokie to Howard to provide connecting service through the affected area after the crash, the CTA said.
