Tyrese Maxey Gives Injury Update Before Sixers-Wizards Clash

Following a 119-109 loss against the Miami Heat, the Philadelphia 76ers are closing out their road trip on Wednesday, April 1, with a matchup against the Washington Wizards.

Once again, the veteran guard Tyrese Maxey is expected to play. The two-time All-Star recently returned to the court after missing multiple weeks of action due to a hand injury.

Maxey’s return to the Sixers was earlier than expected. While the team didn’t indicate he was on pace to play at all before this week, Maxey was active against the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday, March 28.

Without any setbacks or complications, Maxey was on the court for Monday’s action as well. He is available for the third-straight game against the Wizards on Wednesday, too.

When Maxey caught up with reporters on Monday, he offered an update.

“I feel pretty good,” Maxey said, via Sixers Wire. “I gotta get out of here, get some treatment. It’s playoff time. So it doesn’t really matter how I feel. I just gotta push through and fight.”

Heading into a 7 PM ET tip with the Wizards, the Sixers are seventh in the Eastern Conference. They are 1.0 games behind the Toronto Raptors and have a 1.0 lead over the Orlando Magic.

With a chance at grabbing the sixth seed, avoiding the Play-In Tournament, Maxey isn’t interested in using this time for extended rest.

“We ain’t got no choice. We got seven games left. We gotta go try to win them all,” he told reporters.

“That’s the biggest thing. That’s where we’re at right now. Trying to figure out how to win games and keep winning them, man. It’s gonna be tough. Not any games going to be easy. Got to go into Washington, take a game, and go home. I think two home games. So, try to win two games at home, protect the house, and then get back on the road, and finish out the season.”
