Per NFL insider Mike Garafolo and other reports, former Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier is signing with the Arizona Cardinals on a two-year, $12.25 million deal. After four seasons in Atlanta, the reliable Allgeier heads to the desert in a deal done by Justin Schulman and Andrew Kessler at AthletesFirst.
Tyler Allgeier has been a backup running back in Atlanta for his career, but now he will finally get his chance at being a starter in Arizona, with questions surrounding the running back position in a revamped Cardinals offense. In four NFL seasons and 676 total carries, Allgeier has 2876 rushing yards and 20 total touchdowns.

The two-year contract is a good security blanket for Tyler Allgeier, who has been such a serviceable backup for the Falcons. Many NFL teams would be glad to have his production for the four years he was with the team.
His best season was 2022, his rookie season, when he had 1,000 yards rushing. In the years following that breakout season, Allgeier still posted consistent 600-yard rushing seasons, and that’s with Bijan Robinson being the lead back. He’s started just 12 games in his NFL career, but has appeared in 67 games out of a possible 68.
