Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift Make Public Appearance After Skipping Met Gala

Fans hoped to see Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his fiancée, Taylor Swift, attend the star-studded Met Gala earlier this week.

While Swift last attended fashion’s biggest night in 2016, Kelce has never walked the massive red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Many of Swift’s close friends and supporters attended, including Gigi Hadid, Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyoncé, and more; however, the famous couple ultimately skipped the event.

The pop star and Kelce certainly have a lot on their plate as they will reportedly tie the knot on July 3 in New York City. Rumors regarding their wedding day continue to swirl, but Swift and the 11-time Pro Bowler have yet to confirm or deny any reports.

While they’ve kept a low profile since attending the iHeartRadio Music Awards in March, Swift and Kelce stepped out for a special occasion on May 7.

Swift and Kelce were also photographed leaving the theatre after the play. The “Life of a Showgirl” singer wore a black floral dress while Kelce dressed up in a suit.

Sink starred in Swift’s Grammy-award-winning “All Too Well: The Short Film,” which premiered in November 2021. Sink recalled what it was like working with Swift on the project in an interview with Bustle in July 2024.

The 14-time Grammy winner once said that if Sink turned down the role, she wouldn’t have made the short film.

“It was wildly confusing at first, because I never thought of myself as someone who would even reach her desk,” Sink said. “But I grew up on her music and was such a fan. She’s been such a huge part of my life. If a song of hers reminded me of a character, I would use it to get into a role. She had always been a little voice in my head, so it was super surreal.

Looking back, I think she has some kind of Spidey sense where she’s just able to recognize someone who understands the assignment, because I knew that song so well and I knew the history behind it. It was amazing that she recognized that in me somehow, that I would understand the song, the message, the story she was trying to tell.

“How she was able to see that without even meeting me beforehand, and just offering it to me right off the bat… Well, she’s got good intuition.”
