Travis Kelce Praises Taylor Swift For Yet Another Way She Positively Impacts Kansas City

Travis Kelce recently highlighted another way Taylor Swift has influenced Kansas City and the football community. During a new episode of the podcast “New Heights” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end praised a girls flag football team that says it was inspired by Swift. The conversation offered a glimpse into how Swift’s connection to Kansas City has reached fans and young athletes since she began dating Kelce in 2023.

Travis Kelce Reacts to Girls Flag Football Team Inspired by Taylor Swift

Kelce discussed the team while recording the March 25 episode of “New Heights” alongside his brother Jason Kelce.

Jason introduced the topic by pointing out the Kansas City-based team called the KC Swifties.

According to Jason, the group is “an all girls flag football team formed in Kansas City thanks to Taylor getting more girls into football.”

“Hell yeah, that’s awesome man,” Travis said when he learned about the team.

As the brothers looked through the team’s Instagram page during the podcast, Jason highlighted a photo of the players wearing Chiefs-inspired red and yellow uniforms.

Jason described the image as “an adorable picture” before the podcast displayed a video clip of the girls practicing.

“Awww, they’re looking like they’re having a blast,” Travis said after watching the footage.

Jason also shared his view on youth football development, explaining that he believes flag football can help build athletic skills.

“I think flag football builds better athleticism than peewee football,” Jason said, adding that peewee football often involves kids “running into each other.”

They also reposted the video to their own account with the caption, “Dreams do come true! @killatrav and @jason.kelce talked about us on the @newheightshow.”

Taylor Swift’s Kansas City Impact Extends Beyond Football

Swift’s influence in Kansas City has extended beyond fan enthusiasm for the Chiefs.

Kelce has long supported local organizations through his charity work, including Operation Breakthrough, a Kansas City nonprofit that provides services and education programs for children and families.

According to the Kansas City Star, Kelce has contributed financially to Operation Breakthrough through his 87 and Running Foundation, hosted fundraising events, and invited children from the organization to attend events connected to his charity work.

Kelce previously explained why the organization is meaningful to him.

“This place, this safe haven is for them to really dream big and really be anything they want to be,” Kelce wrote on the foundation’s website. “I see so much of myself and my friends growing up in these kids and this community, and I just want to make sure these kids have everything they could ever ask for.”

Swift also recently supported Operation Breakthrough. The organization shared the news on Instagram after Swift made a financial donation.

Taylor Swift’s Kind Gestures in Kansas City

Swift has also shown appreciation for Kansas City workers and fans during Chiefs events.

After the Chiefs’ Christmas Day game, Arrowhead Stadium worker Robyn Gentry shared a Facebook post describing an interaction she had with Swift while working that day.

Gentry said Swift approached staff members while wishing them a Merry Christmas.

“She was running around telling everyone merry Christmas and came towards me, saying thank you so much for working on Christmas, please take this, Merry Christmas,” Gentry wrote.

Gentry later realized Swift had handed her $600 in cash.

“My mind just froze,” Gentry wrote. “Of course I said Merry Christmas and thank you so much.”

Swift has also supported Kansas City during difficult moments. After the shooting at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration at Union Station, Swift donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe created for the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed during the tragedy.
