The Philadelphia Phillies are just a few short hours away from their clash against the New York Yankees.
Ahead of the game, the organization made a trade with the Kansas City Royals.
According to the franchise (via X), they have acquired outfielder Kameron Misner in exchange for cash considerations.
He has been optioned to Triple-A.

Misner is now playing in his third year of Major League Baseball.
He was selected 35th overall by the Miami Marlins in the 2019 MLB draft. His debut arrived on Aug. 2, 2024, with the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Rays had acquired him in a trade with the Marlins in November 2021. In return, they received Joey Wendle.
In November 2025, Tampa Bay shipped him out to Kansas City. His time with the Royals was short-lived, and now he’s landed with Philadelphia.
Through his three years in the big leagues, he owns a .206 batting average and a .571 OPS with five career home runs. Each homer was smacked in 2025.
During his 2026 campaign, he’s slashed .220/.256/.244 with a .500 OPS and four RBIs through 18 games.
When assessing his production in the minor leagues this year, he’s registering a slash line of .286/.378/.563 with a .941 OPS. He has hit 14 home runs, 16 doubles, three triples and 54 RBIs.
In a corresponding move, the franchise noted that outfielder Steward Berroa has been designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.
With the Aug. 3 MLB trade deadline approaching, more trades across the Major Leagues are bound to take place. Each year, this period of the season is coupled with rumors and shocking moves that create waves.

Looking at the National League East, Philadelphia isn’t too far behind the Atlanta Braves (61-42).
With the Phillies in second, they are followed by the Miami Marlins (52-52), the Washington Nationals (52-52) and the New York Mets (43-61).
Philadelphia is coming off a tight 1-0 loss to the New York Yankees from Friday night, and their second matchup is scheduled for Saturday at 6:05 p.m. ET. This is a homestand series at Citizens Bank Park for the Phillies.
Once this stretch is over, they will hit the road and head to LoanDepot Park to take on one of their division rivals, the Marlins.
This will be another three-game series.
To wrap up the month of July, Philadelphia will end with the Baltimore Orioles and hope to kick off August on the right foot.
Now, this will be their final series before the trade deadline. Having said that, fans can expect a hectic week across the board.
This is the point in the season in which ballclubs hold a steady eye on the postseason and aim for contention.
Ahead of the looming deadline, they have an opportunity to bolster their rosters accordingly. Doing so could ultimately provide them with the boost they need to slip into contention.
