TRADE: Milwaukee Brewers Announce Deal For 6-Year MLB Player From Rays

On Tuesday, the Milwaukee Brewers will play their final spring training game when they face off against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Brewers will then have their Opening Day showdown with the Chicago White Sox on Thursday (in Milwaukee).

Before their Opening Day game, the Brewers announced that they had made a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Adam McCalvy of MLB.com wrote: “The Brewers are making a trade, per source: Getting RHP Jake Woodford from the Rays for Minor League righty K.C. Hunt. Woodford was a non-roster invitee to Rays camp. More to come shortly.”

Woodford is coming off a season where he went 0-4 with a 6.44 ERA 22 games for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

He was the 39th pick in the 2014 MLB Draft.

The 29-year-old spent the first four years of his MLB career with the St. Louis Cardinals before stints with the Pirates, Diamondbacks and White Sox.
