In the weeks leading up to the Masters, all eyes have been on Tiger Woods. Initially, there was speculation that Woods was ramping up to play in the Masters.

Days later, Woods was involved in a car accident and arrested for suspicion of DUI, a charge the golfer has since pleaded not guilty amid the crash. Ahead of the Masters, Woods announced that he would not be attending the Masters as the golfer seeks treatment.

Woods was not at the annual Champions Dinner and will not play in the 2026 Masters. Fox News reported that Woods received approval to receive treatment internationally amid public scrutiny following the star’s arrest.

Here’s what you need to know about Woods during Masters week.

Tiger Woods Revealed He Is Seeking Treatment Following His Recent Arrest

Ridley’s statement came after Woods announced he is “stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment.” Woods added that he is seeking “lasting recovery” following the recent unfortunate events.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” Woods remarked in a March 31, statement. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.

“This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery. I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger and more focused place, both personally and professionally,” Woods continued.

“I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”

Tiger Woods Was Granted the Ability to Seek Treatment Outside the United States

The location of Woods’ treatment center is unknown, but his private jet landed in Switzerland days before the Masters, per The Palm Beach Post. Woods was granted the ability to seek help internationally as the court ruled that “public exposure create significant barriers” for the star’s treatment.

“Based upon the Defendant’s treating physician, the out of country treatment facility recommendation is based upon the Defendant’s complex clinical presentation and the urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States as his privacy has been repeatedly compromised,” court documents noted, per Fox News.
