Tiger Woods Blocks $71 Million 2-Time Masters Champ as Questions Grow

Despite not being at the Masters, Tiger Woods continues to be a major topic at Augusta National. Several golfers shared their thoughts and concerns as Woods has stepped away from golf following a troubling car accident and subsequent arrest.

Woods had been pushing to compete at the Masters, but the golfer has not competed in a PGA Tour event since 2024 amid multiple injuries. The recent car accident complicated Woods’ potential return and pushed the golf legend to seek help abroad despite initially being scheduled to be in Augusta.

Among those expressing support for Woods is 2-Time Masters champion Bubba Watson. The LIV Golf star expressed his support for Woods from afar, admitting that the legend has blocked his number.

The reason why Watson cannot get through to Woods? Watson admitted that his number is blocked after “(making) fun of him all the time.”

“I don’t have his phone number anymore,” Watson told reporters on April 6, 2026, when asked about Woods. “He blocks me cause I make fun of him all the time. But yes, when we were on the Ryder Cup captaincy together, he told me how much that meant that I was here in (2019).

“I’m sorry, when I was here in 19, he was (here) the next week after he won, he was very appreciative that I was here. And I told him I’d be here for the major. So nothing but love for him and hopefully he can come back stronger.”

Bubba Watson on Relationship With Tiger Woods Ahead of Masters: ‘I’ve Always Been in His Ear’

Even if Woods did not play in the Masters, the star was slated to be in Augusta for the Champions Dinner as well as the unveiling of a revamped golf course in collaboration with Augusta National. Watson and Woods appear to be on good terms despite the golf legend not being eager to talk on the phone.

“I could care less about Tiger’s golf,” Watson admitted. “I’ve always been in his ear. I told him that I wanted to be here for his next major. I was here in 19, we were in the champions locker and I made a lot of the champions come down to congratulate him.

“That was very emotional. And I told him from day one that we started hanging out back in 06, 07, somewhere in there, that I’m pulling for him as a human being. Forget his golf, I could care less about his golf. And so anybody that’s struggling with anything, I feel for ’em because I’ve went through a lot of mental stuff. So yeah, I always pull for him.”

Watson has built up quite a resume on both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. In addition to his two Masters wins, Watson has earned more than $71 million during his golf career, per Spotrac.

Tiger Woods Received Court Approval to Enter an International Treatment Facility Amid ‘Public Exposure’

Watson’s reaction comes following Woods’ revelation that he will “seek treatment” following his arrest. The golfer received permission to travel internationally for treatment.

“Based upon the Defendant’s treating physician, the out of country treatment facility recommendation is based upon the Defendant’s complex clinical presentation and the urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States as his privacy has been repeatedly compromised,” court documents revealed, per Fox News.

“Ongoing medical scrutiny and public exposure create significant barriers to his care and would result in setbacks and an inability to fully engage in treatment.”
