Three arrested after ATF agent opens fire at robbery suspect in Pullman; no one hurt

An agent from the the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms opened fire at a robbery suspect Thursday morning on the Far South Side.

It happened during an ATF operation in the CPD 5th district near the 109000 block of South Doty Avenue, Mark Kavanagh, an ATF spokesperson said in an email.

The agent discharged their gun at a suspect during an attempted robbery, he said, citing preliminary information.

No law enforcement personnel or suspects were injured but three suspects are in custody, and charges are pending, according to Kavanagh.

Chicago police referred inquiries about the shooting to ATF.
