A widely shared report about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelceâs rumored June 13 wedding just hit a sudden snag after a top planner stepped in to shut it down. Swift and Kelce are set to hold their wedding on June 13 at Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Or are they? On Sunday, a leading celebrity wedding planner broke her silence on those reports, which had spread through the media.
In a report last week, Harper’s Bazaar â at 159 years old, the world’s longest-running women’s magazine â repeated the date, as well as the Rhode Island venue. The claim spread quickly across multiple outlets and fan accounts, but one key detail didnât add up, and thatâs where the story takes a turn.
“Of course, the date is a nod to the superstarâs lucky number, 13, but itâs also an ideal dateâthat also allows time for a honeymoonâdue to Kelceâs NFL schedule, as he starts training camp in late July,” Harper’s Bazaar reported. “Swift reportedly put down a big deposit to secure the Ocean House in Watch Hill. The venue is a glamorous, Victorian-style hotel in Rhode Island, where the âSo High Schoolâ singer has her famous holiday home, and where she and fiancé Kelce have spent plenty of time.”
But when the popular Instagram account Wedding Chicks, with nearly one million followers, posted the date and venue on Sunday, that’s when the wedding planner-to-the-stars apparently felt the need to speak out. And what she said changed the narrative.
Celebrity Planner Steps In as June 13 Wedding Report Faces Questions
Next to an image of a smiling Swift and Kelce, the Wedding Chicks account posted, “Taylor Swiftâs alleged wedding date has the bridal internet in full detective mode. From rumored Rhode Island whispers to possible bridesmaids and wedding aesthetic predictions⦠if true, this may be the celebrity wedding mood board of the decade.”
That sparked a comment from Tara Guerard, founder of Tara Guerard Soirée, described as “one of the worldâs top wedding planners” by numerous fashion magazines, including Harper’s Bazaar. Guerard had earlier been rumored to be planning the wedding for Swift and Kelce, but she denied that rumor.
In her Instagram comment, she shut down another rumor, namely that Swift and Kelce will hold their wedding on June 13 at Ocean House.
What Did Tara Guerard Say About the Swift-Kelce Wedding?
Responding to the Wedding Chicks post, Guerard said that she is, in fact, the planner for a wedding to take place at Ocean House on June 13, but not Swift and Kelceâs nuptials.
“I am the wedding planner for June 13th at the Ocean House in Rhode Island! Sorry to let you all know, Taylor is not my bride this weekend!” Guerard wrote, adding, “Boo! Kindest, @taraguerard.”
In other words, someone is getting married at the luxurious oceanside venue in Rhode Island on June 13. But it’s not Taylor Swift. Which means the Swift and Kelce wedding will be either somewhere else, or on a different date, or most likely, both.
Rumors have circulated online late last year that Swift wanted the date and venue so badly that she paid a premium price to buy out a scheduled wedding party there. But those rumors were denied by a spokesperson for Ocean House itself.
Swift and Kelce have been meticulous about keeping details of their wedding under tight wraps. Not even the identity of their wedding planner is publicly known. But with Tara Guerard’s comment on Sunday, it now appears safe to cross her name off the list.
