Taylor Swift Career News Gives Her Another Reason to Celebrate

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs are planning to say “I do” this summer, and Kelce has confirmed that the wedding is slated to take place before the team begins its training camp, which usually takes place in July. Now, amid the wedding planning, Swift is getting even more good career news.

Swift, of course, doesn’t need more positive career news. Her 2025 studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” arrived in October of 2025 and already has two No. 1 hits in “Opalite” and “The Life of Ophelia.” The album is on its third single, “Elizabeth Taylor,” and while it takes a while for a song to hit No. 1, there’s no reason to think history won’t repeat itself.

So, Swift didn’t need to break any additional records to be having a successful 2026, but it’s certainly nothing to be mad about when she notches another victory. Now, Swift has made history again with her music.

Taylor Swift Hits Another Record High With Her Music

As of Thursday, March 26, Swift has officially extended her record as the female artist with the most songs with more than one billion streams on Spotify. She notched that milestone with her 2019 song, “The Man,” which was her 28th song to hit the milestone, according to research from Pop Crave.

“Taylor Swift extends her record as the female artist with the most songs with 1 billion streams each in Spotify history (28),” Chart Data added.

Followers were quick to respond. “28 songs (with) over a billion streams each. You could build an entire greatest hits album out of just her billion-stream tracks and it’d be longer than most artists’ full discographies, for real,” one said on X.

So, it’s happy news for Swift on a song that’s several years old. Adding Swift’s music to your Spotify playlists and listening on repeat worked, as it turns out.

Taylor Swift Notches Another Milestone With Older Album

Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” has also reached a new milestone. The album has now been on the Billboard 200 chart for 100 weeks, according to research from Billboard.

The Billboard 200, according to Chart Data, is a “chart that ranks the best performing albums in the US each week, combining pure sales, TEA and SEA.” They also state that TEA means track equivalent albums and is calculated by adding up all of the song sales from an album and dividing by 10. In turn, SEA is calculated by adding up all of the audio song streams from an album.

So, even though it’s been two years since “The Tortured Poets Department” dropped, it still has an active. According to Forbes, “The Tortured Poets Department” is her 14th album to earn at least 100 turns on the rundown.

“For most artists, seeing an album appear on the Billboard 200 100 times would be a dream come true and perhaps a once-in-a-career achievement,” Hugh McIntyre of Forber notes in a feature about the release.

He adds of it, “A number of major superstars have only witnessed a handful of their projects hitting that landmark.”
