Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors seem prepared to continue their marriage after 17 years.Â
But a lot has to change if both parties want to close this chapter on a high note.Â
The Warriors find themselves in a pivotal offseason, starting with Curryâs future with the franchise and his personal demands heading into Year 18.
Curry may be 38 and a few steps past his apex, but he has made it clear to the Warriors that winning a championship is squarely on his mind.
According to ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel, the Warriors have been made aware of Curryâs aspirations to win another title before the end of his prolific career.
âNot to mention, Curry has also made it clear that he wants to win at least one more championship, which would put him in a category with greats like Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, and other legends as the only players in league history to win at least five championships with the same organization,â Siegel wrote on ClutchPoints.com.
Warriors Expected to Be Aggressive This Offseason, As Stephen Curry Moves to 18th Season
It is starting to feel like now or never.Â
The Warriors, at least compared to their 2022 iteration, appear stuck in the doldrums. They look like that team from yesteryear. Like a team that once ran the league that you are left watching highlight reels of 10 years later.

They still have Curry and even Draymond Green, two luminaries of the dynasty, but the harsh reality is the Warriors have been no better than a play-in team since winning a championship five seasons ago.
But Golden State doesnât appear ready to close this chapter quite yet.
According to Siegel and other NBA insiders, the Warriors intend to go all-in on stars of Curryâs ilk, including the oft-mentioned LeBron James, whom the Warriors have tried to pair with Curry for years; Kawhi Leonard; and Kevin Durant.
Getting even one of those names to join Curry would require extensive manuevering by the Golden State front office â including getting players already on the roster to settle for a pay cut.
More than merely providing Curry some star help, it would be a joy for fans to witness players like Curry and James, the centerpiece figures of arguably the NBAâs best modern rivarly, to share the court as their careers fade into the twilight.Â
Curry Can Still Be Dominant â and the Warriors Understand That

Had he been that aged icon who was only good for some claps on the bench and leading the team huddle during a timeout, perhaps the Warriors wouldâve been under far less pressure.
But because he is still great â still deking defenders with his off-ball movement, still turning around and running down the other end of the court upon releasing the basketball from 39 feet, still great enough to provoke passionate roars from Dub Nation â the Warriors know they have to bring in a legitimate talent to help Curry steer the team back to relevance.Â
In his 17th season, Curry averaged 26.6 points per game despite playing the fewest average minutes per game of his career.Â
The only problem was Curryâs health; he was limited to just 43 games after a frustrating battle with runnerâs knee.Â
The Warriors â and deep down inside, even Curry â know Curry isnât at a point in his career where he can absorb the lion share of the workload required to lead a team to a championship.Â
But he can certainly be a second option, or even a 1A.Â
He just needs a lot of help.Â
