Steph Curry Reveals Injury Recovery Plan After Warriors Loss vs Suns

The 2025-2026 NBA season didn’t go as planned for Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

After entering the year with championship expectations, the Warriors finished the regular season as the Western Conference’s 10th seed.

The NBA Play-In Tournament allowed the Warriors to take out the ninth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers, but they came up way short against the Phoenix Suns in the battle for the eighth seed.

A 111-96 loss spells the end for Golden State’s season. Now, Curry enters the offseason with questions about his team and questions about his knee.

Curry’s 2025-2026 campaign was taken off track on January 30. The star guard left a matchup against the Detroit Pistons after 25 minutes. He was ruled out for the following game due to runner’s knee and ended up missing a significant amount of time.

The Warriors lost Curry for 27 games in a row. He played in just four games before the postseason approached after missing multiple months of action.

Fortunately for the Warriors, it sounds like surgery is not on the table for Curry.

“Mostly rest,” Curry told reporters. “There are some things I can do to prepare myself for next year, which I’ll stay on top of.

“They say a lot of golf helps my knee,” he joked. “I heard that was part of the research I did. It was pretty, pretty incredible. So hopefully we can do that and then come back next year. And I think long, big picture, you have to be mindful of what it showed, how it showed itself this year, knowing there was a clear difference, like how I prepared pre-injury and post-injury. So the things I’ve been doing recently, I’ll continue to do when it comes to rehab and maintenance and all that, but it is kind of touch and go, just knowing, hopefully rest will get me right.”

The Warriors landed a positive update from Curry after the game on Friday night. Retirement isn’t on the table for their superstar sharpshooter.

At this age, Curry will face the questions after every season. He assured the press that he’s got a few more seasons left in him–even after a year filled with injuries.
