The Sky signed Morgan Maly, a former Creighton standout, to a development contract. She will be available for the Sky’s next game Friday at home against the Valkyries.
The Sky had two development spots open after forward Maddy Westbeld signed a rest-of-season contract with the Mercury. Even with only eight games remaining, there is value in adding a development player now because the Sky can retain her rights for next season.
Maly, a 6-1 shooter, went undrafted out of Creighton and signed a training camp contract with the Sun. She then played overseas in Greece, where she averaged 18.7 points and 9.7 rebounds while shooting 36.6% from three-point range on 6.6 attempts per game.
Maly spent 2026 training camp with the Mercury but did not make the team.
The Sky are on the cusp of being eliminated from playoff contention, sitting six games out of the eighth and final playoff spot.
