Seattle Seahawks Bring In Potential Bradford Replacement

The Seattle Seahawks invited guard Beau Stephens from the University of Iowa for a top 30 visit. He is their first offensive lineman of the top 30 visit period. The Seahawks are expected to look at options to replace Anthony Bradford on the offensive line in the NFL Draft.

Stephens was a three year starter at Iowa. He finished the season as an All-Big 10 player and was part of a unit that won the 2025 Joe Moore Award, an award given to the best offensive line in college football.

His current draft projections vary. Some seem him going in the first three round as Garafolo said; however, NFL Mock Draft Database currently slates him going in the fifth round. The Seahawks currently have picks 32, 64, 96, and 188. That means that either the Seahawks agree with the day two projections or perhaps they are considering moving down.

However, the Seahawks are giving the sense that they are not in love with this draft class.

Beau Stephens Showcases a Physical Profile

Stephens has many attributes that the Seattle Seahawks are looking for in their offensive lineman. For one, he played in a zone scheme, which the Seahawks currently use as well. Second, he is fantastic in pass protection and is a physical in the run game.

Stephens also tested well at the combine. He’s 6’5.5”and 315 pounds, which is a great height and weight for an offensive lineman. His vertical jump was 28” and broad jump was 8’6”, showcasing good explosiveness potentially off the line of scrimmage. Where Stephens tested average was in his speed drills. He ran a 5.35 40 yard dash, with a 3.08 second 20 yard split, and a 1.82 10 yard split.

PFF graded Stephens 3rd among all college eligible guards, noting that he was first among all guards in pass block grading and 5th overall in run block grade. He ranks 133 on their big board.

Given his testing and performance metrics, Stephens seems like a steal for where he is currently projected and a great fit for the Seahawks.

Future of the Seahawks Offensive Line

Anthony Bradford Seattle Seahawks

GettyAnthony Bradford could potentially lose his starting job this offseason.

Bradford is the only member of the offensive line not locked down until 2027. It seems very possible that the Seahawks will want to add depth to the offensive line during this draft. However, Bradford has also struggled in his role with the Seattle Seahawks.

Bradford graded out as PFF’s 70th lineman out of 81 eligible players. He ranked 76th overall in pass blocking and 57th in run blocking. While he has provided a level of continuity with the offensive line over the years, Bradford has struggled to develop. With him being in a contract year, it makes sense why the Seahawks would want to add competition at guard.

Considering how accomplished Stephens was in college and his age, perhaps he can come into an immediate role without needing to develop significantly at the professional level. Bradford has been a project for the Seahawks, but he has struggled to fix his issues in pass protection.
