It has been a busy few months for Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay and wife Veronika McVay (formerly Khomyn). Less than one month before the NFL playoffs, the couple welcomed a baby boy named Christian Alexander McVay to the world on December 15, 2025.
The birth happened days before the Rams’ thrilling Thursday Night Football matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Sean and Veronika are also the proud parents of son Jordan who was born in 2023.
The newest addition made for a memorable week of work-life balance for the Rams coach, especially given Los Angeles played on a short week on Thursday instead of a more traditional Sunday game.
“What a crazy week to be playing on a Thursday,” McVay said in December following their son’s birth, per ESPN’s Sarah Barshop. “… This is a good challenge.
“But it’s a blessing to be able to play in meaningful games this late in the season. And so I’ve got a lot of appreciation for our staff. And fighting a good fight right now.”

Being married to an NFL coach has its challenges given the year-round responsibilities. Back in 2022, Veronika was asked by fans about the challenges that have come during their marriage.
“Time together. For sure,” Veronika noted in a November 2022, Instagram Q&A session, per New York Post. “Time for friends and family. When so much responsibility comes with a job it’s hard to be able to be present in all areas of life all at the same time. It’s impossible.
“He chose this career path, he has so much passion for football and it provides for our life and future. I also know what I signed up for. So it’s just one of those things you can look at as a temporary challenge but it’s also a blessing in so many ways and as long as he’s happy so am I.”
Sean McVay’s Wife Is From the Ukraine
The couple met when Sean was still rising up the NFL ranks as an assistant, serving as the Washington Commanders tight ends coach, per TMZ. Veronika is originally from the Ukraine, a place that still has a special place in her heart.
“As for Veronika … she’s 28, she’s from Ukraine and she met McVay when he was just a lowly (tight ends) coach for the Washington (Commanders) back in the day,” TMZ detailed in 2018.
In addition to cheering on the Rams, Veronika is a real estate agent, per US Weekly.

The couple have been married since 2022. Veronika celebrated the big news by sending a heartfelt message on social media after the couple tied the knot.
“The man of my dreams, my best friend and the love of my life asked me to marry him,” Veronika posted on Instagram at the time, per US Weekly. “And I said YES!!! to being his McBae forever. Here’s to our life together!”
