Seahawks Urged to Pursue Trade for $67 Million RB to Replace Kenneth Walker

The Seattle Seahawks need a running back. The New Orleans Saints might have one too many when the new league year begins at 1 pm PT Wednesday.

Could a trade be in order? CBS Sports Bryan DeArdo argued there could be.

DeArdo encouraged the Seahawks to consider acquiring veteran running back Alvin Kamara from the Saints.

“The defending champions have a pretty big opening at running back after reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III agreed to a hefty new deal with the Kansas City Chiefs,” wrote DeArdo.

“Kamara is nothing like Walker, but with Zach Charbonnet expected to miss a good portion of the 2026 season recovering from his torn ACL, the Seahawks are in dire need. A punishing runner, Charbonnet led the Seahawks in rushing touchdowns in 2025 but missed the Super Bowl after sustaining an injury during Seattle’s win over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC divisional round.”

DeArdo suggested the Seahawks could target Kamara after New Orleans’s agreement with Travis Etienne. The Saints plan to ink Etienne to a 4-year, $52 million contract.

All free agent agreements will become official at 4 pm ET Wednesday.

Kamara has been a dual threat throughout his career. In 126 NFL games, he has posted 7,250 rushing yards and 4,948 receiving yards. He’s also scored 86 total touchdowns.

Over nine seasons, Kamara has earned $67.48 million.

Along with the Seahawks, DeArdo named the Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, Washington Commanders and Carolina Panthers potential trade destinations for Kamara.
