Seahawks Star Cooper Kupp Gets Honest About Klint Kubiak Rumors

The Seattle Seahawks will head into the NFL playoffs with a first-round bye, as they were able to lock up the No. 1 seed in the NFC to conclude the regular season. The team will now wait and see who they’ll face in the Divisional Round, with six teams set to square off in the conference during Wild Card Weekend.

As the Seahawks wait for their playoff opponent, rumors are swirling about offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who is garnering significant interest from teams currently seeking a new head coach, including the Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants and Baltimore Ravens.

With Kubiak more likely to take one of these head coaching opportunities around the league, the Seahawks appear to be embracing his departure during the upcoming NFL offseason.

Seahawks star wide receiver Cooper Kupp recently shared his thoughts on Kubiak potentially becoming an NFL head coach after this season comes to an end for Seattle, via Brady Henderson of ESPN.

“Guys love him,” Kupp said of Kubiak. “You want to play for guys like Clint. Humility is one thing, I think, is one of his special traits; he leans on guys, but obviously, he’s a very smart ball Coach. Understands a lot about this game, but his humility to be able to talk to guys and maybe see, hey, there’s something that I’m asking someone to do. Maybe they can’t do it for some reason, maybe there’s a better way to do it.”

“And his openness to be able to talk to players and coaches that he has around him, and to delegate and be able to grab everyone’s best traits and bring them all to the forefront, I think he does a great job of that. So, yeah, I think he’ll be great. Hopefully, he’s here. But I guess I also, I mean, you want everyone to be able to ascend and go do whatever they want to do, so, but he’ll be great wherever he is.”

With the Seahawks having a decent chance of making it and winning the Super Bowl this season, Richard Sherman has chimed in with his thoughts on his former team and revealed how he feels about veteran quarterback Sam Darnold moving forward.

Maple Leafs Bench Boss Clueless after Latest Loss

“Can Sam do it at a high level? Sherman said on The Rich Eisen Show. “Can he get that monkey off his back that’s been haunting him the last few years? If he can, that would be phenomenal. This team is honestly the favorite to win the Super Bowl.

“If he can play like he did that last drive, I think that last drive of the Rams game did a lot to give him, the Seahawks, and the fans confidence that, hey, when the game is on the line, they can depend on Sam to get the job done and go down and win the football game.”

Only time will tell whether Darnold has what it takes to lead this team to a Super Bowl title while competing against some very good teams in the NFC.
