Seahawks Receive Strong Message Involving Denzel Boston

The Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl LX, but the champions do have some concerning holes on offense. While they have Jaxon Smith-Njigba as their No. 1 guy, general manager John Schneider needs to find a No. 2 guy who can make defenses pay if they solely focus on stopping Smith-Njigba.

With the offseason here, Seattle can address this major hole in their offense that didn’t stop them from winning a Super Bowl, but is an area that they probably want to shore up.

CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson believes that the Seahawks should consider using the draft to find the WR2 behind Smith-Njigba. Moreover, one of the draft prospects he urges Seattle to consider is a local product from the Washington Huskies.

“If [the Seahawks are] trying to get a wide receiver, [with] Rashid Shaheed [hitting free agency], they’ll get Tory Horton back, of course; [however], Denzel Boston might be an option here,” Wilson said during a Feb. 10 appearance on CBS Sports HQ. “[Boston is] 6‑foot‑4‑inch [and] can run for days. He would be sort of a DK Metcalf replacement with a little bit more versatility.”

The Washington native had 62 catches for 881 yards and scored 12 touchdowns in 11 games in 2025, per StatMuse. Boston is predicted to go in the late first round as ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.’s mock draft from Jan. 21 predicts the Huskies star going No. 21 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While a player can fall depending on how the draft shakes out, the Seahawks might need to trade up if they want to land the player if Kiper Jr. is accurate with his prediction.

Seahawks Could Lose Rashid Shaheed in Free Agency

Rashid Shaheed will be a free agent, and the Seahawks have plenty of cap space to re-sign him. However, they might see other areas as a bigger priority over keeping Shaheed. As a result, during a Feb. 9 segment on CBS Sports HQ, Wilson noted that the Buffalo Bills would be an ideal landing spot for him.

“[Shaheed] could be a wide receiver two or three [and] he adds to the return game; he wins down the field consistently on deep routes,” Wilson said. “All that came together once he arrived in Seattle. I think he makes a lot of sense for teams that need speed. The Buffalo Bills might be interested in someone like Rashid Shaheed to pair off opposite Keon Coleman.”

Rashid Shaheed Should Be Looking to Get Paid

On Jan. 22, NFL analyst Marc Ross noted 11 free agents who are deserving of a payday, including Shaheed.

“I loved the midseason trade that sent Shaheed to Seattle, and it’s obvious why,” Ross wrote. “Shaheed was effective in his first three-plus years in New Orleans, but the move put a bigger spotlight on how much of an impact he can make as an electric player with the ball in his hands.

“For those of you who didn’t see last Saturday’s Divisional Round blowout of San Francisco, Shaheed is Percy Harvin-esque with the goods to alter a game as a returner, as evidenced by his 95-yard touchdown on the opening kickoff. Shaheed is lightning in a bottle with the talent to elevate a lot of offenses.”
