Seahawks Announce Huge News Hours After Super Bowl

Seattle’s Super Bowl celebration is officially on the calendar, and the Seahawks have now shared the key details fans immediately search for: the date, start time, parade route, and how the Lumen Field portion works.

The Seahawks won their second Super Bowl in franchise history, defeating the New England Patriots 29-13, and exorcising a demon of their past.

Per the team’s announcement, the Seahawks World Champions Parade will be held Wednesday, February 11, starting with a Trophy Celebration at Lumen Field at 10 a.m. (tickets required), followed by a parade at 11 a.m. along 4th Avenue in downtown Seattle.

Seahawks parade schedule: Lumen Field at 10 a.m., parade at 11 a.m.

If you’re planning your morning, the timeline is straightforward, but the details matter:

  • Gates open: 8:30 a.m. for the Lumen Field Trophy Celebration
  • Trophy Celebration begins: 10:00 a.m. at Lumen Field
  • Parade begins: 11:00 a.m.

The Seahawks also noted the Lumen Field event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required, with tickets available Monday, Feb. 9 at 8:30 a.m.

That “ticketed but free” setup is a big deal for fans who just want to show up and assume they can walk in. If your plan includes Lumen Field, the ticket step is not optional.

Seahawks Super Bowl parade route: start and end points on 4th Avenue

The Seahawks’ official route details are specific enough to plan around even before a full street-by-street map gets shared.

According to the release, the parade will start at 4th Avenue & Washington Street, travel northbound on 4th Avenue, and end at 4th Avenue & Cedar Street.

The team describes the route as just over two miles and expects it to take about two hours.

Here’s the other key line that clears up a common assumption: “No further activities or festivities are planned at the Seattle Center following the parade.”

So for anyone trying to “pick the best spot,” the finish is not being framed as a Seattle Center rally-style endpoint. The parade ends at 4th & Cedar, and that’s it, at least based on the current official plan.

What fans should expect: closures, transit, and how to get downtown

The Seahawks’ announcement is also blunt about the impact on getting around downtown.

They warn of significant delays traveling through Downtown Seattle from early-to-late morning into early afternoon on Feb. 11.

A few planning nuggets that help immediately:

  • Link light rail will operate as normal
  • Sound Transit and King County Metro buses will use alternative routes
  • Streets that intersect with 4th Avenue are expected to be closed between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with congestion on surrounding streets

In other words: if you’re going, public transit is the move, and light rail should be the cleanest option based on what’s been shared so far.

Extra details that could matter on parade day

A couple smaller details in the team release may end up being surprisingly relevant for fans who like souvenirs or are coordinating with friends:

  • Fans can pick up Seahawks World Champions rally cards at select Starbucks locations along the parade route downtown
  • Ticketed Lumen Field attendees will also receive a rally card at the gates

And if you’re trying to watch on TV rather than fight the crowds, the Seahawks note KING 5 is the exclusive broadcast partner for the parade (and there won’t be other live broadcasts permitted inside the Lumen Field event).

What happens next

The big questions are answered: when, what time, and where the parade starts and ends.

The next wave of “must-know” info for fans will be:

  • any official route map details beyond the intersections,
  • the most current Metro/Sound Transit reroutes, and
  • any Lumen Field entry rules tied to the ticketed celebration.
