There had been some concern regarding Scottie Scheffler’s Masters status as his wife, Meredith Scheffler, was pregnant with the couple’s second child. Scottie had been quiet about the timeline of the birth.

The star golfer pulled out of two recent PGA Tour events, putting his Masters status in doubt. Scottie broke his silence on the family matter revealing good news all around.

Meredith recently gave birth to their second son, Remy, “a couple weeks ago,” Scottie told Golf Channel ahead of the Masters. Both Meredith and Remy are in good health.

Scottie confirmed that he intends to play in the Masters and battle for his third green jacket. It will be a family affair as Scottie revealed that his wife Meredith and sons, Bennett and Remy, traveled with him to Augusta ahead of the Masters.

“We had another boy a couple weeks ago,” Scottie remarked. “It’s been really nice, it’s fun. I’m really glad they were able to travel with me this week.

“My wife is a trooper and we brought the boys this week. It’s been fun.”

Scottie and wife Meredith were in a similar scenario ahead of the 2024 Masters as the couple were expecting the birth of their first child. The star revealed that he would leave the Masters if Meredith went into labor during the event.

“Definitely have a way to get home pretty quickly,” Scottie noted on April 13, 2024, per Golf Week. “We have somebody here that has access to their cell phone, if that’s all right.

“And, yes, I’ll be available to go home then whenever I need to.”


Scottie Scheffler Withdrew From Recent PGA Tour Events Amid Birth of New Baby, Remy

Golf Channel reported on March 24, that Scottie withdrew from the Houston Open as the couple awaited the “imminent birth” of Remy. With no updates emerging in recent weeks, this put Scottie’s status for the Masters in doubt for fans.

“Scottie Scheffler has withdrawn from this week’s Texas Children’s Houston Open – and it’s great news,” Golf Channel’s Brentley Romine detailed in a March 24, story titled, “Scottie Scheffler withdraws ahead of Houston Open for birth of second child.”

“Though a reason wasn’t immediately provided by the PGA Tour, Golf Channel has confirmed that the reason was not injury-related but rather the imminent birth of Scheffler’s second child.”
