A woman was fatally stabbed Wednesday in a San Francisco home, and a suspect was arrested after a chase that ended in Oakland, police said.

California man with 4 DUIs arrested in hit and run death of pedestrian

Called by a report of a possible burglary around 9 a.m., officers discovered the victim in a residence in the 100 block of Appleton Avenue, near Holly Park. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Homicide investigators identified a 46-year-old San Francisco man as the suspect. Within a few hours, he was located driving in the Ingleside district, police said.

He refused to pull over, and officers pursued him on city streets and highways, eventually taking him into custody in Oakland.

He was arrested on suspicion of homicide, burglary and elder abuse.
