Sam Darnold’s future wife Katie Hoofnagle is not among the doubters of the Seattle Seahawks quarterback. Hoofnagle has been cheering on Darnold since the Pro Bowl quarterback resurrected his career with the Minnesota Vikings.
Last offseason, Hoofnagle had to trade in all of her purple gear for navy and Action green after Darnold signed a three-year, $100 million contract with the Seahawks. The move turned out to be prudent for both the couple and Seattle.
All Darnold did was lead the Seahawks to the Super Bowl during his first season as the team’s QB1. Before the Seahawks took the trip south to San Francisco, Darnold’s longtime girlfriend made her feelings clear about Seattle.

Hoofnalge took to Instagram to share the highlights of Seattle’s thriving food scene while taking a light-hearted dig on New England.
“I got beef with what New England says… about their food scene. 🤣 @doordash #doordashpartner,” Hoofnagle said in the February 7, Instagram post.

It was a massive offseason for Hoofnagle and Darnold. Not only did Darnold move on from the Vikings to sign with the Seahawks, but the quarterback also became engaged to Hoofnagle.
The couple announced the news on July 7, 2025, just weeks before Darnold’s first training camp in Seattle. Darnold chose an epic beachfront location to pop the question in California.
The Seahawks quarterback admitted to feeling more at ease with his fiancee following his long-term deal with the Seahawks.
“The support [from] my girlfriend is unbelievable,” Darnold told US Weekly’s Daniel Trainor during a March 15, 2025, interview. “You know, the fact that she just understands it.
“She’s a former athlete herself, and just gets kind of the grind of everything. When I just want to chill, she’s very up for that, especially during the season,” Darnold added.
“… She’s great. She’s always been my biggest supporter. And I love her, and I thank her for that all the time.”

Hoofnagle enjoys all kinds of sports. Back in 2021, Hoofnagle worked for the Masters as a golf shop employee. Hoofnagle celebrated attending the 2025 Masters as a patron alongside Darnold, rather than an employee.
“Traded in the khakis and name tag for a cool new hat and a Crows Nest (beer),” Hoofangle explained in an April 21, Instagram post.
The couple has a wedding in their future. On Darnold’s birthday, Hoofnagle celebrated her future husband as someone who brings an “abundance of peace” to her life.
“Amidst the chaos of our everyday lives, every day spent with you is filled with an abundance of peace, laughter, presence, joy, and love,” Hoofnagle explained in a June 5, 2025, message on Instagram.
