Ravens WR Zay Flowers Makes Bold Statement Regarding His Future

Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver Zay Flowers is looking to get paid after seeing Jaxon Smith-Njigba reset the market this offseason.

Zay Flowers is eligible for a contract extension entering his fourth year in the NFL.

“Like everyone else, Zay Flowers noticed that fellow first-round 2023 draftmate Jaxon Smith-Njigba reset the wide receiver market this offseason with a record four-year, $168.6 million contract.” Ryan Mink wrote in a Baltimore Ravens article. “But while Flowers is also eligible for a contract extension for the first time this offseason, he’s focused on a different sort of business.”

Flowers congratulated Smith-Njigba on his record-setting deal. The 2023 first round pick also acknowledged he is not paying attention to his potential contract details yet.

“Congrats to [Smith-Nijigba]. He did that one,” Flowers said in the Baltimore Ravens article. “I ain’t really paying attention to [my contract], if I’m being honest. I go train every day. I let my agents handle that.”

Zay Flowers Wants to Stay With Ravens

With Flowers still being on a rookie deal, he has outperformed it completely. Zay Flowers has established himself as the Ravens number one wideout. The Pro Bowler is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.

The first-round draft pick in 2023 caught 86 passes in the 2025 season. Flowers ranked 7th in total receiving yards with 1,211. In 2023, he recorded 858 yards and 5 touchdowns. In 2024, he recorded 1,059 yards and 4 touchdowns. Out of all of Baltimore’s receivers over the past three years, Flowers has been the most consistent.

“Whenever it comes, Flowers’ next contract will be a very lucrative one. While he eschewed talking about his prospective deal, Flowers did make it clear who he wants it to come from. When asked if it’s his preference to stay in Baltimore, Flowers said, ‘Absolutely.’” Mink wrote.

“I don’t want to go nowhere else,” Flowers said in the Ravens article.

Baltimore will want to add a skilled receiver to go along with Zay Flowers in the near future. For now, it remains to be seen if they can find anyone as good as Flowers has been.

Flowers Listed as One of League’s Most Underpaid Players

According to Bleacher Report, Flowers is listed as one of the NFL’s most underpaid players.

“Another 2023 first rounder who has continued to rise, Flowers is coming off a 1,211-yard, six-touchdown campaign at the age of 25. Like [Will] McDonald and [Drake] Maye, he’ll inevitably become very expensive soon. For now, his $4.5 million 2026 cap hit ranks 50th among active receivers.” Brad Gagnon wrote in a Bleacher Report article.

Over his three-year career, he has recorded 237 receptions with 3,128 yards and 14 total touchdowns.

“Flowers has already outperformed the expectations tied to his rookie deal. A former first-round selection and now a two-time Pro Bowler, he has quickly become one of Lamar Jackson’s most reliable and explosive weapons. Production like that doesn’t typically come at a bargain, yet Baltimore is currently benefiting from exactly that.” Geoffrey A Knox wrote in a Ravens Wire article.

“For now, though, Baltimore can appreciate the value it’s getting. Players like Flowers are the reason teams remain competitive year after year, even as rosters evolve. Still, much like the conversations surrounding other young standouts across the league, his situation serves as a reminder.” Knox wrote.
