It’s been a rather wild start to the offseason for Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua. Fresh off another dominant campaign in 2025, Nacua has found himself in hot water on several instances over the past couple of months, which led him to recently check into drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
Before that happened, though, Nacua was accused of biting a woman during a group dinner with friends on New Year’s Eve. The woman initially filed a temporary restraining order against Nacua, but a big update on her pursuit of a protective order has come to light recently, which will certainly catch fans’ attention.
Restraining Order Against Puka Nacua Gets Dropped
Nacua continued his meteoric rise with the Rams as one of the top wide receivers in 2025. In 16 games, Nacua led the league with 129 receptions for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns. His rapport with quarterback Matthew Stafford helped the latter win the 2025 MVP Award, and the duo led L.A. all the way to the NFC Championship Game.
While Nacua is extremely productive on the field, he’s found himself getting in more and more trouble off the field. Midway through the season, Nacua faced backlash for performing an antisemitic gesture while on a livestream with Adin Ross. Now, Nacua has found himself with a civil lawsuit and a restraining order being levied against him.
According to reports, Nacua made antisemitic comments against Jewish people during a group dinner on New Year’s Eve, before biting a pair of women. One of them has since filed the aforementioned lawsuit and restraining order, but the latter ended up getting dropped in an effort to focus more attention on the lawsuit instead.
“Three weeks after a temporary restraining order request against Los Angeles Rams star Puka Nacua was denied in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the woman who accused the wide receiver of biting her withdrew the petition for the protective order without prejudice on Tuesday, according to court records,” Zach Powell of The Athletic wrote.

Nacua still has some legal troubles to get sorted out before the 2026 campaign arrives, and given his importance to the Rams, they will certainly be keeping close tabs on him. For now, Nacua is undergoing rehab after he willingly checked himself into a private facility last month in the wake of this lawsuit coming to light.
The situation Nacua finds himself in is rather concerning, and he could end up finding himself in trouble, whether it be from the NFL or the legal system. The silver lining, if there is one, is that Nacua is looking to get help before the upcoming season, with the Rams hoping he can stay out of trouble off the field and remain productive on it. A hearing for the civil lawsuit is scheduled for Aug. 3, so this situation isn’t over just yet.
