Rams Get Odds Update on Potential Maxx Crosby Trade

The Los Angeles Rams do not jump off the page as a team that would be in hot pursuit of Las Vegas Raiders star edge defender Maxx Crosby, but they are among the potential trade destinations.

In fact, the Rams are among the teams with the best odds.

Crosby has been one of the best in the business during his career, but could benefit greatly from a change of scenery, and LA could be a fitting destination.

Crosby was the 106th overall pick by the Raiders in the 2019 draft, but the possibility for a trade has become increasingly likely, with the Rams linked to the five-time Pro Bowler and having better-than-long-shot odds to land him.

“DraftKings has the Bears as the +200 favorites to secure his services via trade with the Raiders. Staying put with the Raiders is a +350 proposition,” Florio wrote on March 3. “Five teams are clustered at +700: the Rams (F*** Them Picks, Part Two), Cowboys, Bills, Ravens, and Eagles.”

“The Patriots land at +1000, with the Lions and Buccaneers at +1200.”

That is plenty of competition for the Rams to outbid for the rights to trade for Crosby this offseason. And that is if the Raiders are even truly willing to part ways.

Crosby’s stance on the situation is unclear, but signs point to an exit being his preference. Florio pointed to a report from Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer in which the insider declared Crosby “done” with the Raiders.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported he was told the chances of Croby’s return were “relatively” low. However, there remain doubts that the Raiders will move Crosby.

He is signed through 2029 on a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension that begins in 2027.

“Why would you trade him?” an anonymous general manager asked, per Fowler on March 1, adding that Crosby is “a premier player at a premier position,” while an unnamed NFC executive said, “I think the price is too high. I’m not sure they really want to move him at this point. But that could change.”

Florio noted that the asking price was two first-round picks and a player. However, Fowler and Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer expressed doubts the Raiders would be able to recoup the value they seek, given Crosby’s age, contract, and recent injury history.

That is despite the fact that Crosby remains one of the best players in the league, regardless of position.

The Rams’ salary cap situation is good enough to work Crosby in, while they could swap edge rushers and send Byron Young to Las Vegas as part of the deal.

The Rams also have two first-round picks in 2026 and their 2027 selections at their disposal.

Acquiring a player of Crosby’s caliber will never be cheap. However, the Rams are fresh off a run to the NFC Championship Game. They find themselves in a position to add a tremendously talented player at a critical position this offseason.

The Rams have the capacity to make it happen while remaining flexible going forward in a way that many others, including those with better odds, do not.

Crosby and Jared Verse would give the Rams one of the best pass-rushing duos in the league.
