ANTIOCH — Raley’s has decided to close one of its East Bay stores in a shutdown scheduled for April that will eliminate dozens of jobs.
Affecting an estimated 43 workers, the supermarket chain is closing its store at 3632 Lone Tree Way in Antioch, according to an official WARN notice it filed with the state Employment Development Department.
“It is anticipated that this will be a permanent closure impacting the entire store,” Sabrina Dominguez, Raley’s executive director of human resources, wrote in the WARN notice.
The layoffs are slated to take place on April 28, the WARN letter stated.
It’s possible some union-represented employees might be able to land jobs at Raley’s sites elsewhere, the company told the EDD.
“There are bumping rights at Store No. 333 for some team members covered by a collective bargaining agreement,” Raley’s stated in the WARN notice. “Some team members may be able to transfer to other locations by taking advantage of bumping rights through their collective bargaining agreement.”
