The Las Vegas Raiders have signed former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Segun Olubi, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
“Raiders have signed former Colts free agent LB Segun Olubi.”
Olubi, 26, is 6’1″, 233 pounds with four seasons of NFL experience. During that span, he’s racked up 50 total tackles, two forced fumbles, and one interception in 51 career games with the Colts.
Raiders Sign Former Colts LB Segun Olubi
Olubi will be a depth piece and special teams contributor for the Raiders. A former undrafted player out of San Diego State, he’s an extremely fast linebacker with a 4.45 40-yard dash time and actually blocked one of AJ Cole’s punts vs. Las Vegas last season.
Here’s some more information on Olubi, courtesy of Raiders PR on X:
- Racked up 30 total special teams tackles from 2022-2025 as a member of the Colts, the most on the team over that span.
- Owns 21 solo special teams tackles since the beginning of the 2023 season, tied for the ninth most in the NFL over that span.
- Last season (2025), posted 11 total tackles and one forced fumble on special teams. He was one of just 13 players in the NFL to record 10+ tackles and a forced fumble on special teams.
Looks like Raiders new special teams coordinator, Joe DeCamillis, just got an extremely promising player.
Olubi had this message to Raiders Nation:
“What’s up Raider Nation, super excited to get to work man. I love it out here, it’s a beautiful place. Time to do it.”
John Spytek’s “Open-Mind” Heading Into Free Agency
Raiders general manager John Spytek attacked free agency this offseason in a refreshing yet calculated approach.
Bringing in key players at crucial positions and paying up for guys that will change the franchise. He talked about his thought process heading into free agency and emphasized that they were going into it being “open-minded.”
“I’ve always kind of thought that you’re never as good in this league as you think you are, and you’re never as far away as you think you are. We’re just going to go open-minded,” Spytek said. “The work has begun upstairs this afternoon, and I’ve got to get back up here in a little bit and keep going. But we’re going to prioritize.”
Some of the key free-agent signings believe in what Spytek is trying to build as well.
“I just truly believe in what Spy is trying to accomplish here,” free-agent signing Kwity Paye said, who was also teammates with Olubi in Indianapolis. “I just think we can actually get this thing turned around.”
“It already feels like home,” Tyler Linderbaum said, who signed a massive three-year, $81 million contract. “Everyone’s been welcoming. State-of-the-art facility, unbelievable. The people here … these are the right people to kind of turn this thing around.”
Exciting times for a new era of Raiders football.
