Puka Nacua Makes Decision on Rams’ Offseason Program After Rehab Report

The Los Angeles Rams are looking to run it back in 2026 after coming up just short of finding their way back to the Super Bowl last year. Early on this offseason, though, one of the most important pieces of the Rams’ offense, wide receiver Puka Nacua, has found himself getting in quite a bit of trouble off the field.

It’s been a hectic past few months for Nacua, as he’s faced backlash for performing an anti-Jewish gesture on a livestream and been hit with a lawsuit after he allegedly bit a woman during a dinner with friends on New Year’s Eve. Nacua reportedly checked into rehab for alcohol and drug addiction in the wake of the latter incident, but it sounds like he is back on the field for L.A. as it kicks off its offseason program on Monday.

Puka Nacua is in Attendance for the Start of the Rams’ Offseason Program

After entering the NFL as a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Nacua has enjoyed a meteoric rise in his first three seasons with the Rams. Nacua turned in a stellar campaign in 2025, as he finished the year with a league-leading 129 receptions, which went for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns. That production earned Nacua a Pro Bowl selection and a spot on the All-Pro First Team.

This offseason, though, Nacua has kept on popping up in the news for all the wrong reasons. His stint in rehab certainly caught folks’ attention, but the move was met with praise, as fans applauded Nacua’s efforts to get himself back on the right track. What that meant for his future, though, was unknown.

Los Angeles has been wary of handing Nacua a big-money contract extension to this point, as it likely wants to see if he is going to be able to stay on the field for years to come. He’s taken the first step towards getting his act together, though, as he is reportedly in attendance for the start of the Rams’ offseason program, which is getting underway on Monday.

“Rams WR Puka Nacua is present for first day of offseason program,” Gary Klein of The Los Angeles Times reported in a post on X.

When Nacua is on the field, his rapport with quarterback Matthew Stafford makes him one of the most dangerous offensive playmakers in the NFL. While he’s gotten a bit carried away when it comes to several aspects of his off-field life, it hasn’t gotten to the point where Nacua’s career is at risk as a result of his actions.

It looks like the Rams and Nacua have nipped his off-field concerns in the bud for the time being, although it is worth noting that he still has several legal issues that will be sorted out in the future. For now, Nacua is likely happy to be back in the building with his teammates as they begin preparing for the upcoming 2026 campaign.
