Contra Costa County prosecutors have charged a 19-year-old man with murder in the death of a woman shot to death earlier this month.
Joseph Sullivan also faces a special allegation that intentionally fired a gun to kill Leeasia Futch on Feb. 20, authorities said.
Details of the shooting have not been made available.
Authorities also charged Sullivan with resisting an executive officer. A charging document said he attempted by means of threats and violence to deter and prevent Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office deputies from arresting him and that he resisted with use and violence.
Prosecutors charged Sullivan with battery upon a peace officer and other designated persons.
