No. 3 Serra 7, Bellarmine 0
Josiah Rodriguez had himself a game on Tuesday.
The Serra standout hit two home runs, had three hits overall, knocked in four runs and scored three runs to lead the first-place Padres to a victory over visiting Bellarmine in a West Catholic Athletic League game.
Serra led 2-0 through four innings. The Padres stretched the advantage to 3-0 with one in the fifth and 6-0 with four in the sixth as they upped their record to 16-3 overall and 7-1 in the WCAL.
Sam Kretsch scattered eight hits and struck out eight while pitching a complete-game shutout for Serra.
The Padres also got two hits apiece from Jake Downing and Ian Josephson.
Bellarmine lost its fifth in a row to fall to 10-10, 3-5.
Sawyer Stout had two hits for the Bells.
No. 4 Valley Christian 3, St. Francis 1
Valley Christian completed a two-sweep of St. Francis, winning on the road behind 6 1/3 strong innings from ace Quinten Marsh and an RBI apiece from Jordan Ortiz and Brock Ketelsen.
Marsh and Hunter Fujimoto each had two hits for the Warriors, who improved to 18-3, 6-2.
St. Francis fell to 8-10-1, 2-5-1.
No. 8 Heritage 6, No. 19 Pittsburg 2
With first place in the Bay Valley Athletic League on the line, Pittsburg held a one-run lead going to the bottom of the fifth inning.
When the frame ended, Heritage was on its way to sole possession of the league lead.
The Patriots scored five in the the fifth as they improved to 13-4-1 overall and 3-1 in the league.
Pittsburg is 14-5, 2-1.
Alonzo Alvarez had two hits and two RBIs and Aidan Range added two hits, scored a run and drove in a run to lead the way. Heritage also got a solid 5 2/3 innings on the mound from Ryan Williams and 1 1/3 scoreless innings from Logan Nelson.
The teams will play again Thursday at Pittsburg.
No. 14 Leigh 3, Pioneer 2
Leigh scored in the top of the seventh to break a 2-2 tie and Ollie Obenour finished off an overpowering relief appearance to lift the Longhorns past Pioneer in a Blossom Valley Athletic League Mt. Hamilton Division game.
Obenour struck out eight in 2 2/3 innings.
Dylan Christian drove in two runs and Brandon Kim and Obenour each had two RBIs for Leigh.
Noah Morales knocked in Pioneer’s only run.
Leigh improved to 12-5, 9-2. Pioneer is 10-9, 6-5.
Softball
No. 1 St. Francis 5, Salinas 1
Shannon Keighran struck out 15, Hayden Hummel had three hits, including a home run, and Jaime Oakland to lead St. Francis past Salinas in non-league play.

In a matchup between Palo Alto rivals, Gunn won for the 16th time in 17 games this season as Anna Brown had a hit and two RBIs and Tess Bogart added two hits, including a double, and drove in a run to lift the Titans to victory in Santa Clara Valley Athletic League El Camino Division play.
Lauryn Selvaraj pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts as Gunn improved to 16-1, 7-0.
Palo Alto is 5-8-1, 3-4.
