Authorities say Chapman and the woman were sleeping in a vehicle when another car pulled up and at least one gunman opened fire. Police have not announced any arrests nor said if they’ve pinpointed a motive.

Chapman’s funeral was held in February at a Richmond church. His eulogy describes him as an ambitious family man known for his “sweetness, intelligence, caring nature, and striking handsomeness,” who worked two jobs to support his family, and left behind two sons.
