Philadelphia 76ers Reveal Injury Report vs Indiana Pacers

The Philadelphia 76ers are coming off a bad loss against the Houston Rockets on Friday, April 10.

When they went into a must-win game in Texas, the Sixers landed some tough news on the morning of the matchup.

The former MVP Joel Embiid was diagnosed with appendicitis and rushed to the hospital for surgery. As expected, Embiid was ruled out as soon as he reported being ill.

Unlike many teams across the league, the Sixers aren’t going to be using the second-to-last game as an opportunity to get key players rest.

The 76ers need to fight for a win. Therefore, there aren’t any surprises on the injury report.

As expected, Joel Embiid is listed as out. The 76ers didn’t release a full timeline for his recovery just yet, but with less than one week to play, it can be assumed that Embiid won’t get the nod to play before the postseason action.

Cam Payne remains out for the Sixers as he deals with a right hamstring strain. When the Sixers officially announced Payne’s timeline, the team confirmed he would miss at least two weeks of action. He won’t be seen before the postseason.

The rookie center Johni Broome is the other player marked as out. Broome has been recovering from right knee surgery and isn’t expected to be back before the season concludes.

Lastly, the Sixers listed Tyrese Maxey on the injury report. However, he is considered available for the matchup. The veteran guard is still recovering from a right finger tendon strain, which he suffered back in March. The star guard missed multiple weeks as a result.

The Sixers Must Win On Friday

Any loss in the next two games automatically eliminates the Sixers from a top-six seed.

As capturing the sixth seed remains the goal, the Sixers have to take care of business on the road in Indiana. The game is slated for a 7 PM ET tip.
