Sting is bringing a different kind of concert tour through the Bay Area

The two incredibly popular vocalists launch their 17-city Summer Worship Nights Tour on Aug. 1 in Detroit and currently have gigs booked up through an Aug. 28 date in Honolulu.

And, fortunately for local fans, this co-headlining trek also includes one stop in the Bay Area.

Wickham (known for such hits as “This Is Amazing Grace” and “Living Hope”) and Lake (whose credits include “Honey in the Rock” and “Same God”) perform Aug. 23 at Oakland Arena. Tickets are $25-$100, transparentproductions.com.

Georgia hip-hop artist Hulvey opens the show.

Wickham is a Grammy-nominated artist from San Diego, who released his self-titled debut in 2006. His last three albums — 2018’s “Living Hope,” 2021’s “Hymn of Heaven” and last year’s “I Believe” — all hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart.

Hailing from South Carolina, Lake is a member of the contemporary worship music collective Maverick City Music. He’s won five Grammy Awards, all for his work with Maverick City Music. Lake released his debut solo single — a cover of the Tasha Cobbs Leonard hit “This Is a Move” — in 2016. And his recent single “Count ‘Em” is one of the best new songs we’ve heard in a long time.
