Wind Conditions Could Impact Friday Afternoon at Aronimink

Conditions at Aronimink Golf Club played softer during Thursday’s opening round after overnight rain left receptive greens across the Donald Ross-designed course.

Players frequently saw approach shots stop quickly or spin backward after landing, helping create lower scores throughout much of the day.

That could change Friday, according to weather.com:

Weather forecasts call for dry conditions for the rest of the tournament, with temperatures expected to rise into the 80s over the weekend.

Friday’s forecast includes a mix of clouds and sun, with wind becoming more noticeable as the day progresses. Morning gusts are expected around 18 mph before climbing closer to 24 mph later in the afternoon.
