Patrick Reed and wife, Justine Reed, are no strangers to controversy. The Reeds have mostly been out of the spotlight in recent years after Patrick bolted the PGA Tour for LIV Golf in 2022.
Back in January, Patrick announced that he had cut ties with LIV in an effort to return to the PGA Tour. After a hot streak on the DP World Tour, Reed regained access to the PGA Tour.
Similar to the golfer, Patrick’s wife Justine does not shy away from voicing her opinion. Back in 2018, an X account tied to Justine went viral as rumors swirled about potential tension between Patrick and Jordan Spieth.
It does not appear that Justine has posted from the account since 2018. Justine attempted to squash the rumors that Patrick did not want to be paired with the golfer at the Ryder Cup.
“I can assure you- you’re wrong. Patrick never said that he didn’t want to play with Jordan,” Justine noted in a September 28, 2018, message on X.
“Maybe you should ask Jordan why he didn’t want to play with Patrick. You don’t have to love the people you work with- but when you have chemistry and success, you go with it for the TEAM.”

Patrick’s return to the PGA Tour increases the entertainment value for golf fans thanks to the couple. Back in 2018, Justine also appeared to take aim at then Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk.
Patrick’s wife questioned why Patrick and Jordan were no longer paired together.
“It was set up that way,” Justin said in a September 29, 2018, X message, per a screenshot posted by Golfweek. “He was the leading point scorer for the last two Ryder Cups.
“You don’t see any of the others playing (Francesco) Molinari and (Tommy) Fleetwood? Yet you change the most winning pair in American (history) in Patrick and Jordan.”

In the past, Justine has attempted to play coy when asked about the X account. During a September 2018 interview with Golf.com’s Dylan Dethier, Justine claimed she did not know if this was her social media account.
“Justine declined to elaborate on the tweets when approached by a reporter at Le Golf National Sunday afternoon,” Dethier wrote in a September 30, 2018, story titled, “Patrick Reed’s wife raises questions about Spieth-Reed split, attacks media coverage on Twitter.”
“Asked to confirm that the account is hers, she said, ‘I can’t really say. I don’t know.’ When pressed for details, Justine declined to comment further.”
Jordan Spieth on Drama With Patrick Reed: ‘Patrick & I Have Been Awesome’
Jordan has since attempted to quiet the noise about tension with Patrick. During a 2020 interview with Golf.com, Jordan emphasized that the Ryder Cup had more to do with his relationship with Justin Thomas, while adding that things are “awesome” between himself and Patrick.
“For me, it was mainly like, (Justin Thomas and I) had grown up together, accomplished these goals together, we’re finally at the coolest stage in golf at a Ryder Cup,” Jordan told Golf.com during an October 2020, interview. “Let’s go out and kick some (expletive) together. I mean, that’s what we wanted to do.
“And, you know, everything was fine. Nothing was a big deal. Things were raised afterwards and then Patrick and I have been awesome since. It really was like, blown out for six months. And then other than that it’s been nothing.”
