Patrick Mahomes is reflecting on one of his more unexpected career highlights—meeting Taylor Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback shared the moment while speaking at a local event, adding it to a list of experiences that stand out during his time in the NFL.
Mahomes spoke at Lead to Read KC on April 2, where he discussed his favorite moments with the Chiefs. While he highlighted playing at Arrowhead Stadium, he also mentioned a personal interaction that caught attention.
Patrick Mahomes Calls Meeting Taylor Swift ‘Cool’
Mahomes said one of his favorite experiences included meeting Swift, who has become closely connected to the Chiefs through her relationship with Travis Kelce.
“It would be to play at Arrowhead Stadium and just have all the fans and Chiefs Kingdom out there,” Mahomes said, per footage shared on X. “That’s a lot of fun.”
He then added, “I got to meet Taylor Swift, that was pretty cool too.”
Mahomes has spoken about Swift before, including after she attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023.
At the time, he said, “[She’s] really cool. Good people. But like Trav said, man, I’m going to let them have their privacy and just keep it moving.”
He also joked about the attention surrounding Swift’s presence at games, saying, “I think he wanted to get into the end zone just as much as all the Swifties wanted him to.”

Since Swift and Kelce began dating in the summer of 2023, she has spent lots of time with Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
The couples have attended games together and supported each other publicly. When Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025, Brittany reacted on Instagram, writing, “Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love. Just so happy for these two.”
Mahomes also acknowledged the moment by resharing the announcement with red heart emojis.
Swift’s presence has extended beyond games. At Kelce and Mahomes’ restaurant, 1587 Prime, drinks inspired by Swift and Brittany were added to the menu. Swift’s drink, The Alchemy, references a song tied to her relationship with Kelce.
During a September 2025 appearance on “The Drive” on 610 Sports Radio, Mahomes said, “I’m not a big liquor drinker myself but from everybody I’ve heard from, it’s a really good drink and obviously wanted to have an ode to Taylor and how important she is, not only to us but this city as well.”

Kelce has also shared his perspective on Swift’s involvement with the team and its fan base. Speaking on the “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, he addressed her first appearance at a Chiefs game.
“Shoutout to Taylor for pulling up, that was pretty ballsy,” Kelce said. “I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her. You know, the friends and family.”
He added, “She looked amazing, everybody was talking about her in a great light.”
Kelce also described the atmosphere during the game, saying, “To see the slow-motion chest bumps, to see the high fives with mom, to see how, you know, Chiefs Kingdom was all excited she was there—that (expletive) was absolutely hysterical and it was definitely a game I’ll remember, that’s for damn sure.”
Kelce later noted he plans to keep more details about his relationship private moving forward. “I think what’s real is that it is my personal life and I want to respect both of our lives,” he said.
