Packers’ Romeo Doubs Turns Down NFC East Team, Signs $68M Patriots Deal

The Green Bay Packers are losing one of their top wide receivers in free agency, as Romeo Doubs has reportedly agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Doubs is signing a four-year, $68 million contract with the Patriots.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that it came down to the Patriots and Commanders for Doubs.

“Romeo Doubs entertained tangible interest from the #Commanders and it was very close in the end, but he chooses NE,” Schultz posted on X.

Doubs, 25, spent the first four seasons of his career in Green Bay after being selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Nevada. He is coming off a 2025 season in which he led the Packers with 55 receptions for 724 yards while tying for the team lead with six touchdown catches.

His departure marks another notable change to Green Bay’s wide receiver room as the team continues reshaping its roster heading into the 2026 season.
