Micah Parsons is still working his way back from a torn ACL that he suffered in the middle of a very successful first season with the Green Bay Packers. After being traded by the Dallas Cowboys last offseason, Parsons made an immediate mark on his new team.
In just 14 games played last season, Parsons racked up 41 tackles, 12.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a defended pass.
While Parsons no longer plays for the Cowboys, he has continued to be very vocal about the franchise. Along with his ongoing spat with team owner Jerry Jones, Parsons has weighed in on many things Dallas related.
That was the case once again during the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
After the Cowboys traded up from No. 12 to No. 11 to land Ohio State standout safety Caleb Downs, Parsons spoke out with a message for the rookie.

As shared by B/R Gridiron on X, Parsons shared words of motivation for Downs as he enters his NFL career with the Cowboys.
“You’re here to start and be the guy,” Parsons said. “You ARE the guy.”
Even though the two sides ended their time together on a drama-filled note, Parsons clearly still has a lot of love for Dallas. He’s hoping to see Downs head in and live up to the hype for the Cowboys.
Downs was talked about as one of the top defensive players in the 2026 NFL Draft class. There are some who believe that he could end up being the best player out of the class.
Only time will tell, but Downs clearly has a big fan rooting for him in Parsons.
What’s the Latest on Micah Parsons’ Injury Recovery?

Back in March, head coach Matt LaFleur spoke out about Parsons’ recovery process. After it being mentioned that Parsons was expected to miss the first few games, LaFleur refused to place that limitation on his superstar pass rusher.
“I hope not,” LaFleur said. “We’ve got a plan. I don’t ever wanna put limitations on people, but obviously there’s a process, and the medical (staff) has to feel really good about it before we put a guy back out there coming off that significant of an injury.”
