Packers Linked to Jaguars Tackle in Trade Scenario

The Green Bay Packers could be in the market to trade for Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Walker Little. The Jaguars have an excess of potential starting tackles, and with the Packers having questions on the left side, the two sides could work out a deal, according to Jake Beckman of Fansided.

The Packers still have uncertainty about what will happen with Jordan Morgan at left tackle for the Packers this season. Jordan Morgan was drafted in the first round back in 2024, so he should be capable of holding down the job.

However, in his rookie season, he played just 186 snaps, with 120 at right guard and 65 on the left side. Meanwhile, in 2025, he played 819 snaps, but he played 358 snaps at right guard and 191 at left guard. He got to play 219 snaps at right tackle and 51 at left tackle, but that means he has much more experience at guard than he does at tackle, and left tackle is the position that he comes into 2026 with the fourth-most experience at. So, Morgan is going to get a chance but it might not go well, and the depth behind him is very questionable.

Meanwhile, Little is just 27 years old. He has played 2,783 snaps over five NFL seasons. He has 2,390 of them coming at left tackle. Last year, he played 841 snaps at left tackle, so if the Packers need experience at the position, he brings it, and he could be a long-term starter due to his age.

Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers Could Work Out a Trade for Walker Little

Walker Little

GettyJacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Walker Little has two years remaining on his current contract.

On the Jaguars’ side, they just found a starter at left tackle. Cole Van Lanen started for an injured Walker Little to close out the year, and the team was so high on him that they not only started Van Lanen after Little returned, but they also gave him an extension, ensuring the job is his in 2026. So, they have Little with plenty of starting experience. They do not need him, though.

It makes sense that the Packers have a question here; the Jaguars have an excess, so the two sides should come together.

What Could Stop a Trade Between the Packers and Jaguars

The real issue that will hold up a trade is that the Jaguars likely view Little as a starting-caliber player. So, they would want a starting caliber return for him. The Packers want him to be their insurance plan, and do not want to pay the price tag of a starter for someone to sit behind their first-round pick.

Left tackle is a position with a lot of league-wide need. So, while the Packers’ situation might not be strong right now, it is a bit more resolved than other teams that have bigger questions and needs at the position. So, these teams would be more likely to trade the Jaguars something significant. If Morgan does not flash in training camp or if an injury occurs, the trade makes sense, but right now the Packers might not be that desperate to make the move.
