Orlando Magic Turmoil News Sparks Skepticism From 76ers Fans

Despite the drama going on with the Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers fans are lacking confidence in their team’s ability to put a nail in the coffin of their opponent during the 2026 NBA Play-In matchup on Wednesday.

On the eve of the battle for No. 7 in the Eastern Conference, a report surfaced about the Magic’s future, which is unlikely to involve their current head coach, Jamahl Mosley.

“The Magic are dealing with major turmoil in their locker room with my sources saying that a star player is willing to demand a trade if the head coach, Jamahl Mosley, isn’t fired at the end of this season,” Raheem Palmer from The Ringer reported this week.

Most fanbases might see a report like that and start thinking ahead about the first-round series against the Boston Celtics. Sixers fans? They are as skeptical as they come.

Here’s how 76ers fans reacted to the report on Reddit:

TasSixer: Only one team could lose to a team in turmoil.

ItsNovafr: don’t worry mosley will turn into prime Phil Jackson against us.

Onioncurve: If they lose to a dysfunctional team tmr….. lmao.

Gabrino45: We are so losing this lmao.

Upset_Yesterday1056: That coach will turn into pat Riley or Phil Jackson and guide them to win, easily outcoaching Nurse.

The 76ers finished the 2025-2026 NBA season with a 45-37 record. They wrapped up the regular season on a two-game winning streak.

Orlando finished with the same record, but fumbled the home-court advantage opportunity. In a matchup against a Boston Celtics team that missed most of its rotation, the Magic came up short. Holding the tie-breaker, the 76ers landed the opportunity to host Orlando instead of traveling to Florida.

Asisoid: Don’t worry Magic fans, nothing fixes team morale like playing the Sixers….

Confident_Square1063: I wanna hear this for my team. Maxey demands trade if Nurse ain’t canned.

Substantial-Pack-658: I’ve been saying this for years. We need some sort of ritual to cleanse the franchise of its sins.

The Sixers Are Dealing With High Stakes

The 76ers aren’t dealing with reports suggesting there is turmoil in Philadelphia, but it’s clear that with the high stakes, high pressure is coming.

After missing the playoffs last season, Nick Nurse’s postseason track record with the 76ers is underwhelming. Two years ago, the Sixers got to the playoffs through the Play-In for the first time, and they were bounced by the New York Knicks in six games.

Dropping Wednesday’s game against Orlando would certainly heat up some seats in Philly. If the Sixers win, they will suit up against the Boston Celtics this weekend. If the Magic pull off what wouldn’t shock 76ers fans, then a game against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday would be in the works.
