One dead after Friday night shooting in Pueblo, police investigating as homicide

One man is dead after a Friday night shooting in Pueblo and officers are investigating the case as a homicide.

Pueblo police officers responded to reports of shots fired just before 10 p.m. Friday in the 2100 block of North Main Street, according to a Friday news release from the Pueblo Police Department.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot injury.

Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to a Saturday morning update.

The man will be identified by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office.

The Pueblo Police Crimes Against Persons and Crime Scene Investigations units are investigating the man’s death as a homicide — Pueblo’s eighth homicide this year.
