OKC Thunder Make Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Announcement Before Nuggets Game

On Friday evening, the Oklahoma City Thunder will be in Colorado to take on the Denver Nuggets.

The Thunder most recently beat the LA Clippers by a score of 128-110 (in California).

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 20 points, one rebound, 11 assists, one steal and one block while shooting 9/17 from the field and 2/6 from three-point range in 30 minutes of playing time.

For Friday’s game, the Thunder have announced that they will be without Gilgeous-Alexander.

He has been ruled out on the injury report.

Gilgeous-Alexander is having another sensational year with averages of 31.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 55.3% from the field and 38.6% from three-point range in 68 games.

He is in his eighth NBA season (and seventh playing for the Thunder).

The Thunder are the first seed in the Western Conference with a 64-16 record in 80 games.

They have won nine out of their last ten games (and seven in a row).

On the road, the Thunder have gone 30-9 in 39 games.

Following the Nuggets, they will play their final game of the 2026 regular season when they host the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.

The Thunder are already coming off a year where they won the NBA Championship (and Gilgeous-Alexander won the MVP).

They are expected to make another deep run in 2026.

Nuggets Before Thunder Come To Town

The Nuggets will come into the matchup as the third seed in the Western Conference with a 52-28 record in 80 games.

They are in the middle of a ten-game winning streak (and 27-13 at home).
