There’s no better college to be a wide receiver at than Ohio State. There’s no better family at producing wide receivers than the Harrisons.
In recent years, the combination of the 2 has been nothing short of electric, and Rivals.com recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong thinks that pairing is about to get its newest chapter.
Wiltfong’s latest prediction for St. Joseph’s (Pa.) Prep wide receiver Jett Harrison, the No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2028, has Harrison headed to Ohio State.
If you follow these sorts of predictions, you know Wiltfong rarely misses. Kind of like the Harrison family when it comes to wide receivers: Jett Harrison is the younger brother of Ohio State 2-time All-American wide receiver and 2024 No. 4 overall pick Marvin Harrison Jr., and their father is Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison.
“FONG BOMB: Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong has logged an expert prediction for Ohio State to land 5-star WR Jett Harrison,” Rivals wrote on its official X account on Wednesday. “Harrison is the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2028 Rivals300.”
Jett Harrison, 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, was a MaxPreps Freshman All-American in 2024 with 10 touchdown receptions. He followed that up with 87 receptions for 1,243 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2025.
“Elite pedigree … shows up constantly with his football IQ,” 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins wrote. “Attacks cushion and breaks off defenders with sharp cuts. Likely to get bigger, but already plays large with his web and positioning … projects as a potential trusted option for a CFP contender.”
Buckeyes Produce Steady String of NFL WRs
Ohio State continues to pump out not just a steady stream of NFL wide receivers but a steady stream of the NFL’s best wide receivers year after year — and not just 1st round picks.
It was a 1st round pick, whoever, who took over the NFL in 2025 with former Ohio State wide receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba, who the Seattle Seahawks selected with the No. 20 overall pick in the 1st round of the 2023 NFL draft.
In his 3rd season, Smith-Njigba led the NFL with 119 receptions for 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns on the way to being named NFL Offensive Player of the Year and leading the Seahawks to the 2nd Super Bowl win in franchise history.
Following the season, Smith-Njigba signed a 4-year, $168 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history.
“If/when Ohio State lands Jett Harrison, it would be the sixth straight recruiting class that OSU has landed a five-star WR,” Buckeyes fan Swish wrote on their official X account. “2023: Carnell Tate, 2024: Jeremiah Smith, 2025: Quincy Porter, 2026: Chris Henry Jr., 2027: Jamier Brown, 2028 Jett Harrison.”
Tate was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, marking the 5th consecutive year in which Ohio State had a wide receiver selected in the 1st round. That includes the 2022 NFL draft, when Ohio State wide receivers Garrett Wilson (No. 10) and Chris Olave (No. 11) were taken with consecutive picks in the 1st round.
Even with all that, the best of the bunch is still playing for Ohio State — there’s still a chance that in 2027 Smith could be the 1st wide receiver selected with the No. 1 overall pick since the New York Jets selected USC wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson with the top pick in 1996.
