Nik Bonitto Sends Strong Message on Broncos Super Bowl Outlook Amid Bo Nix Injury

The Denver Broncos’ dream season took a crushing turn when Bo Nix suffered a season-ending broken ankle in the overtime playoff win over the Buffalo Bills.

But if there was any doubt about whether Denver still believes they can win the Super Bowl, Nik Bonitto erased it quickly.

In the aftermath of Nix’s injury, the Broncos’ breakout edge rusher delivered a confident and defiant message.

“We got you 10,” Bonitto tweeted.

“We’re still two wins away,” Nik Bonitto said. “That doesn’t change. We believe in everybody in this locker room.”

Losing their franchise quarterback hurts, but Bonitto made it clear the Broncos aren’t backing down.

Inside the locker room, that confidence is contagious.

Denver has rallied around Jarrett Stidham, embracing a next-man-up mentality that has defined Sean Payton’s roster all season.

Broncos safety PJ Locke added to the confidence:

Jarrett “Nick Foles” Stidham! Let’s Rock Kid! ! Broncos Country, let’s get behind him!

Denver Defense Takes Center Stage with Bonitto as Leader

If Denver is going to keep its Super Bowl hopes alive without Nix, the defense will be the engine.

The numbers back up that they are fully capable of carrying this team.

Denver finished the season ranked top-five in opponent points per game (18.9), yards per game (287.7), points per play (0.299), and yards per play (4.5).

They were elite in the red zone, allowing touchdowns on just 44.23% of opponent trips, and surrendered only 1.8 touchdowns per game.

Against the run, Denver has been even more suffocating.

For Blackhawks' struggling power play, more practice isn't necessarily a solution

Opponents rushed on just 38.28% of plays, averaged 4.0 yards per carry, and scored only 0.6 rushing touchdowns per game, all near the top of the league.

That balance is why the Broncos can realistically lean on defense to carry them through the biggest games of the season.

Nik Bonitto’s rise has mirrored Denver’s identity.

He finished his breakout season with 14 sacks.

That impact against Buffalo cemented his place in franchise history, joining Von Miller and Tom Jackson as the only Broncos to record multiple forced fumbles in a playoff game.

In the biggest moments, Bonitto has delivered, and now he’s the face of a defensive unit that will try and carry its team to San Francisco.

How the Broncos Can Win Without Bo Nix

Denver’s path won’t be easy.

They will host the AFC Championship next Sunday either against the Houston Texans or New England Patriots.

Jarrett Stidham will be the second quarterback to make his first start of the season in a Conference Championship Game.

He has four career NFL starts, which will be the fewest by any QB entering a Conference Championship start in NFL history.

Denver must protect the football, lean on the run game, and let Stidham manage the game rather than chase it.

Defensively, the blueprint already exists.

The Broncos forced five turnovers against Buffalo and stopped Josh Allen in the most critical moments.

While Bo Nix’s season-ending injury is absolutely heartbreaking, Bonitto and the entire locker room believe this team is still fully capable of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.
