Nico Hoerner Comments on Viral Incident Between Dalton Rushing and Miguel Amaya in Cubs-Dodgers Series

The Chicago Cubs are currently taking on the San Diego Padres in a three-game set as part of a West Coast road trip. Before Chicago’s series with the Padres, the Cubs visited Dodger Stadium in a weekend series with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

During that series, a viral incident transpired when Dodgers catcher Dalton Rushing appeared to have shouted an expletive at Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya after he stole a base on Rushing. The blurb that Dalton Rushing was caught saying was caught on camera, and in the video, you can see Nico Hoerner looking shocked at what Rushing said.

For those that do not know at this point, after Miguel Amaya’s successful stolen base on Dalton Rushing, Rushing appeared to have yelled ‘Fat Fu**’ in the direction of Amaya.

Nico Hoerner, before the Cubs-Padres series finale, was asked by reporters about that interaction and what he should have done differently:

“I wish that I had confronted him [Rushing], I was pretty taken aback… at the end of the day, you wanna have your teammates’ back.”

Nico Hoerner also confirmed that Rushing did actually say what he said to Miguel Amaya in what was a viral incident across social media.

The Viral Incident Isn’t the First Time Dalton Rushing is Caught Up in MLB Drama

Dalton Rushing is making a name for himself as being a very reactionary player, and causing controversy across MLB.

In the Dodgers series last week against the Colorado Rockies, Rushing spoke pregame about how it was very fishy to him that the Rockies were swinging at the first pitch of every AB, maybe implying that they could be cheating.

There was another moment later in that series, and then this viral incident between Rushing and Amaya.

It’s clear Dalton Rushing is a very bold player while on the field, as you almost have to be as a catcher, but considering his youth in the sport, he’s really trying hard to get the masses to dislike him.

And Cubs fans are probably already fed up with his on-field antics.
