NFL Mock Draft Predicts Carson Beck Will Join $255 Million Star QB Amid Drama

The 2026 NFL draft is not viewed as having a loaded class of quarterbacks, but Miami’s Carson Beck is among the top remaining signal-callers according to the latest mock drafts. Just two quarterbacks, Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson, were selected in the first round.

Beck has a wide range of projections with some analysts predicting the quarterback could hear his name called during the second night of the NFL draft. Others believe Beck’s wait will be much longer.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler predicted the Philadelphia Eagles will select Beck in the fourth round with the No. 137 pick in an April 15, mock draft. Beck would join star quarterback Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia.

The Eagles’ offseason has been dominated by headlines about potential drama surrounding the team’s offense. What cannot be argued is Hurts has already led the Eagles to a Super Bowl, making Philly a good landing spot for Beck to learn at the start of his NFL career.

Hurts’ five-year, $255 million contract is slated to run through the 2028 season. Yet, selecting Beck could ramp up the pressure on Hurts heading into next season.

Here’s what you need to know about Beck’s latest mock draft projections.

One NFL Mock Draft Projects the Steelers as Another Potential Landing Spot for Carson Beck

There is another Pennsylvania team that could be in the market for help at quarterback. Aaron Rodgers‘ future with the Pittsburgh Steelers continues to be uncertain.

ESPN’s Jordan Reid is a little more bullish on Beck’s chances to hear his name called sooner rather than later. The analyst predicts Beck will be selected in the third round by the Steelers.

Reid’s mock draft has the Steelers snagging Beck with the No. 99 overall pick.

“Many scouts I’ve spoken to like Beck’s floor and think he can be a long-term backup option,” Reid wrote in an April 20, article titled, “2026 NFL mock draft: Jordan Reid’s predictions for 257 picks.”

“He would be another developmental player along with Will Howard, last year’s sixth-round pick.”

Miami QB Carson Beck Is Projected as a ‘High-End Backup’ in the NFL

During his time at Georgia, Beck was once projected as a potential top pick in the NFL draft. Amid an underwhelming end to his tenure with the Bulldogs, Beck opted to hit the reset button and transfer to Miami in 2025 rather than enter the NFL draft.

Beck threw a career-high 30 touchdowns last season and 3,813 yards in 16 appearances. The quarterback also added two TDs on the ground.

The Ringer’s Todd McShay described Beck as a “high-end backup” heading into the NFL draft.

“Beck heads into the 2026 draft as one of the top five QB prospects and should hear his name called late on day two,” McShay detailed in his scouting report on the quarterback. “Beck will be drafted as an early-career backup with future NFL starting potential.

“Betting on the latter is rich for my blood. I see some shades of Tanner McKee (Eagles) and Aiden O’Connell (Raiders) in Beck’s game. I could see him having a similar career as a high-end backup who can win games when called on.”
