The NFL’s legal tampering period of free agency starts Monday at noon ET, where teams can officially start negotiations with free agents. However, official transactions won’t become official until the start of the league year at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11.

March 9 (11:30 a.m.) – Tight end Travis Kelce is expected to return to Kansas City for his 14th season in the NFL despite initial reports that he could be headed elsewhere. This is the message that’s been delivered to teams who will want him, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Patriots Tendered TE Jack Westover
March 9 (11:25 a.m.) – The New England Patriots have tendered exclusive-rights free-agent FB/TE Jack Westover, per The Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed.
Patriots Release LB Jahlani Tavai
March 9 – Patriots are releasing LB Jahlani Tavai ahead of the start of the free-agent negotiation period, per Albert Breer.
Texans Sign DT Sheldon Rankins
March 9 – The Houston Texans and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins agreed on a two-year deal that includes $12 million guaranteed, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Cowboys Rework S Malik Hooker’s Contract
March 9 – The Cowboys created an additional $2 million in cap space after reworking the deal for safety Malike Hooper, per ESPN’s Todd Archer.
Vikings Use Lowe Tender On LB Ivan Pace
March 9 – The Minnesota Vikings have used the low tender on restricted free agent LB Ivan Pace, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter
Giants Expected To Pursue TE Isaiah Likely
March 9 – The New York Giants are expected to make a push or TE Isaiah Likely, which makes sense given his connection to head coach John Harbaugh, per ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.
Packer Trading DL Rashan Gary To Dallas Cowboys
March 9 – The Green Bay Packers are trading defensive lineman Rashan Gary to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2027 fourth-round pick, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Dolphins Trade CB Minkah Fitzpatrick To The Jets
March 9 – The Miami Dolphins are trading CB Minkah Fitzpatrick to the New York Jets in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick (originally from the Chargers), per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Jets will sign Fitzpatrick to a three-year, $40 million deal.
Daniel Jones Asking Price
March 9 – The Indianapolis Colts used the transition tag on quarterback Daniel Jones, giving them time to come to a long-term contract agreement. However, according to Sports Illustrated, Jones is looking for a deal worth around $50 million per year.
He rejected the team’s initial offer that was similar to Sam Darnold’s three-year, $100.5 million deal last offseason.
CB Montaric Brown Expected To Stay With Jacksonville
March 9 – Cornerback Montaric Brown will remain in Jacksonville on a three-year, $33 million dollar deal, per ESPN.
Cowboys Restructure OT Terence Steele’s Contract
March 9 – The Dallas Cowboys and OT Terence Steele have restructured a new deal that includes $22 million in fully guaranteed money, a base value of $33M and upside to $36M, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
This creates an additional $13M in cap space for the Cowboys.
WR Wan’Dale Robinson Expected To Sign With Titans
March 9 – Titans are expected to sign wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson after the negotiation window officially opens, per Mike Florio.
Dolphins Releasing QB Tua Tagovailoa
March 9 – The Miami Dolphins have informed QB Tua Tagovailoa that they are releasing him, but are still set to pay his $54M fully guaranteed, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Bengals Not Tendering QB Jake Browning
March 9 – The Cincinnati Bengals are not tendering restricted free agent quarterback Jake Browning, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Titans Not Tendering CB Darrell Baker
March 9 – The Tennessee Titans are not tending restricted free agent CB Darrell Baker Jr., per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Steelers Re-Sign CB Asante Samuel
March 9 – The Pittsburgh Steelers are re-signing cornerback Asante Samuel to a one-year, $4M deal, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
