On Monday night, the New York Yankees will look to go for the sweep of the Baltimore Orioles in the Bronx.
They have won each of the first three games, most recently winning by a score of 11-3 on Sunday.
Aaron Judge had two hits with a home run.
Also on Sunday, the Yankees announced a major update on Anthony Volpe.
The Yankees wrote (via X): “Following today’s game, the Yankees returned INF Anthony Volpe from his rehab assignment, reinstated him from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.”
Volpe has yet to make his season debut for the Yankees.

Ahead of Monday’s game, Aaron Judge revealed that he called Volpe after the news.
Judge (via SNY’s Yankees Videos): “I gave him a call once I got home. Before I was eating dinner, just to kind of check on him, see what they say, how you feeling, what’s going, how’s the shoulder feeling… We talked for 30-40 minutes and then I told him I’d check with him later this week.”
Judge and Volpe have been teammates for three years.
Volpe is coming off a season where he batted .212 with 19 home runs, 72 RBI’s and 18 stolen bases in 153 games.
He won a Gold Glove Award as a rookie in 2023 (and helped the Yankees reach the World Series in 2024).
Brendan Kuty of The Athletic wrote: “George Lombard Jr. is going to bounce around in the infield at Triple A, Boone says. Volpe will play SS, but didn’t rule out the possibility of him getting work at other positions. Said that “conversations” could happen in coming days.”
Judge And The Yankees Right Now

Judge is having another MVP-caliber season, as he is batting .264 with 32 hits, 13 home runs, 23 RBI’s, 30 runs and five stolen bases in his first 34 games.
He has won three MVP Awards in the last four years.
Meanwhile, the Yankees are at the top of the American League Central with a 23-11 record in 34 games.
At home, they are 11-5 in 16 games.
